(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a meeting with a parliamentary delegation from Iraq, Sayyid Ali Fadlallah pointed to what is going on in Syria and said the regional problems should be solved through an Islamic effort free from sectarian labels.
He said there is a danger facing the region, namely attempts to draw Syria into sectarian conflicts.
“The current situation requires an extensive Islamic movement to remove any sectarian hue from regional conflicts and fill the gap between Shia and Sunni Muslims.”
Fadlallah underlined the major role that Egypt’s Al-Azhar University can play in boosting Muslim unity and called for strengthening ties with the Islamic center.
He further urged for confronting those who plot to carry out anti-Islamic plans.
In the meeting, the Iraqi delegation presented a report on the current situation in Iraq and discussed developments in Lebanon and the region with Fadlallah.
They also visited the grave of Allameh Sayyid Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah, late Lebanese source of emulation.
